WHO WE SERVE

Central Florida has long been an area with many needs. But during the economic downturn the needs of individuals and families in our own backyards have especially skyrocketed. Many who never thought they would become homeless learned the hard way that they, too, were just one missing paycheck away from a real crisis. The sad part for them is that the red tape has become thicker, the shelters fuller, and the ministries overwhelmed and under-equipped to handle the wide range of special needs now existing.

Since 2005 our mission has been to serve “the poorest among us” in an active demonstration of Christ's love. We offer assistance to anyone in need, regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation. Not all of our guests are homeless. Classified as the working poor, many of them have jobs and homes, but, as a result of the rising cost of living and low-wage jobs, cannot afford to keep food on the table or pay for other basic necessities. In recent years, we've seen an increased need among families with children, elderly and disabled adults, and veterans.

In addition to providing clothing, supplies, and a weekly hot dinner to the homeless, The Ephraim Project helps put people on a path to restoration by meeting many other essential needs, such as mail delivery, storage, bus passes, Bibles, resumes, identification assistance, and the like. The new face of homelessness looks much like yours and mine. More than anything, those in need just want someone to come alongside them and offer help with compassion and understanding.
